12ft Trampoline-12ft Trampoline Enclosures-12ft trampoline with basketball hoop

Benefits of 12ft Trampoline Enclosures

A 12ft trampoline is a fun way to exercise with the benefit that you don’t even feel like you are exercising at all. Other exercise routines like stair climbing, rowing machines, or jogging is monotonous and uninteresting. That’s why it’s so hard to keep at it time and time again. With 12ft trampolines though, it’s different. It has all the benefits of aerobic exercises like jumping rope, improving oxygen and blood circulation throughout the body and increasing cardiovascular health. You’ll also notice renewed energy throughout the day and toned leg muscles. All you need is a daily regimen of 30 minutes of trampolining to start enjoying these benefits today. It is important that you realize that there is a slight risk to trampolines, and that’s where a 12ft trampoline enclosure can save your day. Especially if you plan to use it often, then an enclosure should be your number one investment after the trampoline itself.

A 12ft trampoline enclosure can be set up separately from your trampoline or it can come as an attachment as a set. It is comprised of a metal frame, usually made from zinc, that goes around the entire trampoline and is fastened to the frame. The nets then gets wrapped around the enclosure frame tightly to prevent any accidental spills. Sometimes you may jump too high out of your normal comfort zone and that split second of panic may cause you to fall off. Reduce that risk with a decent trampoline enclosure safety net.

If you have kids too, then it is even more important to protect your jumpers. If even you are at risk of injury then imagine the chances of an accident occurring to a child. Even if you are practicing on the trampoline trying to do tricks, the enclosure net is something you will definitely want to have protecting you.

Besides all these safety benefits, there are also some drawbacks to using enclosure nets as well. The enclosure itself is now an extra risk spot for injury. The rods sometimes are poorly constructed and may have sharp edges or loose screws. You can easily rub on one of these, resulting in a painful tear in your skin or hands. Worse than that, some trampoline enclosures are so badly designed that they pose more threat to your safety than they do protection. Make sure the net you get is ASTM certified and pick one that looks of good quality. If you can find safety features like double bolts and locks, it will be worth the extra effort and cost. You can also invest in some trampoline pads to cover up the other risk spots.

Using a 12ft Trampoline Enclosure Net Properly

Though getting a 12ft trampoline enclosure net might seem like a great safety precaution, it can be ineffective if not used properly. A 12ft trampoline enclosure net is also known simply as a trampoline safety net or just trampoline enclosure. Whatever you want to call it, the safety it brings actually quite a debated topic. This is because some people claim that using a 12ft trampoline enclosure net around your trampoline can actually increase the chance of accidents and cause accidents themselves. The truth is, this only occurs when the safety net is not set up and used properly and can be entirely avoided with the correct know-how.

Here are a few tips for effective use of your trampoline enclosure:

  • The trampoline enclosure size must fit your trampoline enclosure.
  • The trampoline enclosure must be installed within the boundary of the trampoline frame.
  • Adult supervision of children is required at all times.

To touch on the first point, if you already have a 12ft trampoline, then be sure to buy a 12ft trampoline enclosure that has been designed specifically for this size. This means you can’t use a 14ft trampoline enclosure on a 12ft trampoline or any other size for that matter. This is due to the safety design of the enclosure net. It’s simply not meant for other trampoline sizes, otherwise they would be sold as one size fits all. There is a reason trampoline manufacturers supply enclosures at different sizes.

In line with that reasoning, the fit of the trampoline enclosure net must be exact. Ideally it should actually be set up so that it is within the inside of the outer trampoline frame. It should never extend beyond the frame as they are meant to protect against injuries on the frame itself. Even if there are spring pads, minor accidents and bumps can still occur.

Finally, keep children supervised at all times. Depending on their age and capability, make sure they do not do fancy flips that they see on television or any other type tricks. One child can easily influence all the children around him or her to do the same stunts. As an adult, it is your responsibility for the safety of these children. Simply relying just on a 12ft trampoline enclosure is insufficient.

With the properly sized 12ft trampoline enclosure net around your backyard trampoline, you can significantly reduce the chances of any accidents. Be sure to buy the right size and set up the net properly within the trampoline boundary. Keep a safe eye on the children at all times. It’s easy to see why 12ft trampoline enclosures get blamed for causing accidents rather than preventing them when these tips aren’t followed. Follow them and you can enjoy the benefits with a sound peace of mind.

12ft Trampoline Enclosure Keeps You Safe While Having Fun

The trampoline has come a long way since it was first invented in 1934 by George Nissen, then an accomplished gymnast who wanted to create something for athletes to train on. Today, 12ft trampolines are highly refined and are meant for anyone to use, not just sports athletes. In fact, the trampoline is even considered a children’s toy, though parents sometimes get caught in the fun as well. All that jumping around does have slight risk. The problem arises from the height of the jump and the jumper’s control while on a trampoline. That’s why the 12ft trampoline enclosure is such an important piece of safety equipment that no trampoline should be without. It encloses the entire trampoline like a safety cage made of soft but strong netting. This prevents falls to the ground and keeps you landing on the soft trampoline mat at all times. Protect yourself and your children while using a trampoline and make sure you invest in a trampoline enclosure for safety’s sake. You wouldn’t ride a bike without a helmet and for the same reason you shouldn’t use a trampoline without a 12ft trampoline enclosure.

The typical trampoline enclosure is made up of a few parts.

Enclosure Replacement Net

The trampoline enclosure net can be purchased separately in cases where replacement is needed. Trampoline nets are very sturdy and many brands’ replacement nets will work with other brands’ enclosures. Replacement nets are treated with UV-resistant materials right into the threading, which is usually made of highly tensile and strong polypropylene. The outer lining is usually made from elastic to ensure a good fit as it encloses the 12ft trampoline.

  • Sizes: Usually these are available for 12ft, 13ft, and 14ft round trampolines though you may be able to find other sizes as well.

Enclosure Pole Foam Sleeves

These pole sleeves are made from high-density foam padding and wrap right around the pole of the trampoline enclosure. This makes sure that the enclosure poles themselves pose no safety hazard to the jumper as bumping into an exposed metal pole can also be quite dangerous. Enclosure pole foam sleeves are also UV-resistant and even resist mold and mildew for outdoor use. Always make sure to make measurements of your poles to see if you can full cover the exposed areas with the foam padded sleeves. Also make sure to get the correct number of sleeves for however many poles that your 12ft trampoline enclosure has.

  • Colors: Usually these are colored to help the bouncer distinguish the trampoline boundary while in the air. Common colors are blue, black, yellow, and green and you can even mix and match them.

Enclosure Pole End Caps

If you have a trampoline enclosure that uses an upright pole perimeter, then you’ll need pole end caps to fit over the tips of the poles. An exposed pole end can be sharp and snag, so be sure to cover it with an end cap usually made of strong plastic that will fit snugly over the enclosure pole ends. They usually come in sets so make sure to get enough to cover all your poles.

Enclosure Net Bungees

Net bungees are designed to allow the enclosure net to stretch and give with each bounce to enhance protection and durability. These are usually attached at the top of the poles in traditional enclosure systems if they support this.

Universal 12ft Trampoline Enclosure Nets

A 12ft trampoline enclosure net is made using synthetic weaving for high tensile strength making it very strong. It won’t last forever, contrary to belief, and should be replaced depending on your backyard conditions. Otherwise a weakened enclosure net is just giving you a false sense of safety and is a disaster waiting to happen. Whether it is from the sun or rain, the stitching on the weave can weaken and tear. When enough of the fibers are ripped, the entire net can be compromised. Be sure to make periodic inspections of your 12ft trampoline enclosure net to check for signs of replacement needed.

While performing your checkup, you should also inspect the entire trampoline. Walk around the outer circumference and test the tensile strength of the enclosure at each step by tugging. If fibers are snapping lose then it may be a sign to get a new netting. There are enclosure systems designed for specific trampoline models and can even vary between same manufacturers. If you happen to have a straight pole enclosure set up, then you may be able to use a universal net when it comes time to shop for a replacement rather than buy a brand new 12ft trampoline enclosure altogether.

Some trampolines, like the JumpKing G3 and G4 trampolines use patented pole systems that are specially shaped to be arches. For these systems, make sure you reference your owner’s manual to see the replacement part number.

Buying a trampoline enclosure safety net will prevent accidental falls off the side of your 12ft trampoline. These injuries can be the worst of all if you land on your neck or head, causing serious spinal damage that is even fatal at times. Use nets that are fully enclosed and have an entry slit that is zipped or clipped up. Even with a trampoline enclosure in place, make sure a parent is around to supervise when the trampoline is in use.

Buying the Best 12ft Trampoline for Kids

Trampoline and children and almost always synonymous when it comes to playtime. Kids absolutely love the excitement and joy they get from bouncing unnaturally higher than their bodies are capable. If you’ve decided to get one for your family or are just entertaining the thought, then it helps to know what types of trampoline sizes are the best fit for children.

There are many choices that await you as several manufacturers make trampolines for children since they are just so popular. The sizes can vary widely from a mini-trampoline with just a single occupant all the way up to a large 16ft trampoline or even larger. These range greatly in price and you can get cheap trampolines or high quality high end ones as well to suit your budget. Cheaper ones tend not to last as long as ones that cost more because the difference comes down to cost of materials. Whatever your choice, there are a few guidelines to follow to make the right choice for the best trampoline for your kids.

How Much Available Space Do You Have?

The amount of free room you have in your backyard should also play a role in determining the size and type of trampoline you get. The trampoline should have ample room around the sides as you don’t want a child accidentally falling off into a dangerous nearby object like a chair or rose bush. You can buy a trampoline enclosure that will great alleviate this type of problem. Also keep in mind the amount of space overhead since some children can bounce as high as their own height. Be sure the area is clear of any clutter like tree branches or hanging vines or cables.

The size of a 12ft trampoline means it measures 12 feet in diameter from frame to frame if it is a circular trampoline. For your own measuring purposes simply measure out a 12ft by 12ft size square to see if you have the right space for it. Square and rectangular trampolines may have different dimensions so be sure to pay close attention to the trampoline shape.

Trampoline Frame Type

The trampoline frame is the skeleton of the trampoline and a poorly constructed frame can mean possible bending of the frame which is dangerous. Be sure to look for a lightweight aluminum metal frame as this is a very strong material that is also practical because it isn’t too heavy. Aluminum is also preferred due to its resistance to weather. Have you ever seen an aluminum baseball bat rust? If you can, visually inspect the mat as well and make sure it is durable and flexible at the same time. Cheaper trampolines may use mats that will wear down quickly due to normal use or weather conditions. If your budget allows it, get a better made trampoline and you will spend less on maintenance and replacement costs in the long run.

Zupapa 15 14 12 FT TUV Approved Trampoline with Enclosure net and Poles Safety Pad Ladder Jumping Mat Rain Cover, Blue

Quality:
The quality of the product is very good. The only material which raises concern is the blue tarp material (not going to beat a dead horse). We were fully aware of this before we made the purchase so no surprise there. If it fails prematurely we will reach out to Zupapa thru Amazon.

Base set up: I believe anyone can set up this trampoline. The directions are not that bad. My tip for you, go step by step. Assemble the frame loosely then take a rubber malet (or a small block of wood and hammer) and tap above each support to set the structure securely together. When attaching the mat, start by quartering it with 4 springs as shown in the directions then repeat by adding one spring between each of the four quarters and keep repeating until all 108 springs. are installed.

Safety Net assembly. I put a small piece of duct tape around the 2 piece net pole junction as I found I had to work the pole and insulation back and fourth a bit during insertion.

It’s packaged very well and organized with assembly in mind. The tool for the springs, included, is the only tool you’ll need. Everything is included from a cover, for the springs and the trampoline, to a ladder, and even a pair of cotton knit gloves which keeps the grease/oil from coating your hands

Skywalker Trampolines 12-Feet Round Trampoline and Enclosure with Spring Pad

  • Reinforced t-bracket construction provides greater structural stability at each enclosure and trampoline joint
  • Patented no-gap enclosure System attaches net to jump mat at each spring, eliminating gaps
  • Tightly woven polyethylene enclosure net for durability and UV protection
  • 72 heavy-gauge rust-resistant 5.5 inch springs for a superior bounce
  • Meets or exceeds ASTM safety standards

Pros:

* Easy enough assembly for one person. I could have easily done this by myself but due to lack of sunlight I did have help.
* Very light and easy to move around once assembled and made of high quality materials. This net is probably the easiest I’ve put on a trampoline to date… normally its a VERY large headache lining up everything.
* Once everything is together its very sturdy and we have as many as 5-6 kids jumping on this thing at once with some injuries (Expect this when purchasing. No trampoline is totally safe).

Cons:

* Had to put some of the braces for the net in the right spots. It seems as though the person who boxed ours up or whatever didn’t really care. wasn’t really an issue for me as I figured everything out fairly quickly.
